Taking place on Sunday 20th August, this year’s Mirfield Show sponsored by Riva Homes and Superfast West Yorkshire & York is less than a month away. We are excited to reveal the star attractions to delight the crowds in the main ring.
Pedal Power vs. Parkour is the only show of its kind in the UK. The display combines the incredible skill, balance and power of a trial rider with the finesse of a gymnast and parkour athlete. Both athletes will be putting it all on the line in an attempt to become the crowds’ favourite! Both athletes will perform all the latest tricks you have only ever seen on the internet, pushing the limits of what’s physically possible. This all-out stunt show is an exciting, heart-stopping performance that is sure to impress all ages.
The Band of West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service are Yorkshire’s premier ‘Military Style’ concert band based just around the corner in Birkenshaw. Having previously played high profile events including for the Queen and members of the Royal Family as well as events all over the world. We are delighted they will be playing at this year’s Mirfield Show. The band proudly represents one of the national emergency services and boast over 30 musicians from all walks of life. The band’s chairman Kevin Fisher MBE is a former Station Commander at Mirfield Fire Station.
Chairperson Karen Bullivant comments: “The Mirfield Show is a fantastic family day for less than £10 for two adults. We are delighted to have two fantastic main ring attractions to entertain the crowds. But the day cannot happen without the generous help of volunteers who make the day run smoothly and we need the lovely people of Mirfield to come give us a hand. There’s lots of different volunteer roles for all ages from litter picking, welcoming and directing visitors, setting up tables and chairs, helping with competitions and classes and been part of the clean-up crew. As long as you are enthusiastic and willing to get stuck in we’d love to hear from you.”
Advance tickets are now on sale for this year’s show priced at just £3.50 for adults (£5 on the day) and free for all under 16s. Tickets are available through the Mirfield Show website and in selected shops in Mirfield including Ramsdens, Beadelicious and Perfections.
