2022 Theme: Queen’s Platinum Jubilee’.

The competition is open to all – individuals, schools, and other groups. Winning entries will be displayed in the main marquee at the show on Sunday 21st August 2022 and then at Through the Wardrobe.

Theme of the Queen’s Jubilee can encompass, citizenship, togetherness, celebration, saying “Thank you”. We also have special picture classes for younger creatives.

School Prize – £50 voucher to spend at Through the Wardrobe Bookshop

  • Best school entry in classes 2 to 8
  • Age will be considered

CLASSES

  • 1 – Open to all – open to all adults and young people from the age of 15 – a story of no more than 2800 words or a poem of no more than 40 lines that revolves around the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee
  • 2 – Writers 13 to 14 years of age – a story of no more than 1600 words or a poem of no more than 30 lines.
  • 3 – Writers 11 to 12 years of age – a story of no more than 1200 words or a poem of no more than 25 lines.
  • 4 – Writers 9 to 10 years of age – a story of no more than 800 words or a poem of no more than 20 lines. This may include a picture that helps to tell the story.
  • 5 – Writers up to 8 years of age – a story of no more than 600 words or a poem of no more than 16 lines. This may include a picture that helps to tell the story.
  • 6 – Creatives 5 to 6 years of age – a picture in any medium, based around any part of “Here she comes!”, which can be found on the website.
  • 7 – Creatives 4 years of age and younger – a picture in any medium, based around any part of “Here she
    comes!”
  • 8 – Creatives up to 6 years of age – a picture that tells a theme-related story – words welcome but not essential.
