£10 book vouchers from Through the Wardrobe Bookshop, Mirfield, for the winners of each class, most atmospheric, best science-related and interesting community-related writing, the best class 4 or 5 picture and special awards.
School Prizes – £50 of vouchers to spend at Through the Wardrobe Bookshop for the school or nursery that submits the best school entry in classes 2 to 6 (with age taken into account) and a reserve prize of £25 of vouchers.
Class 1 – Adults and young people from the age 15 – story of up to 2800 words or poem of up to 40 lines. |
Class 2 – writers 13 to 14 years of age – a story of up to 1600 words or a poem of up to 30 lines. |
Class 3 – writers 11 to 12 years of age – a story of up to 1200 words or a poem of up to 25 lines. |
Class 4 – writers 9 to 10 years of age – a story of up to 800 words or a poem of up to 20 lines. This may include a picture that helps to tell the story, which will be considered as part of the story. |
Class 5 – writers up to 8 years of age – a story of up to 600 words or a poem of up to 16 lines. This may include a picture that helps to tell the story, which will be considered as part of the store. |
Class 6 – creatives up to 6 years of age – a picture that tells a theme-related story – words are not essential. |
