Creative Writing 2025
Theme: Stories connected with the numbers 30 or 80; Spring and/or summer time 1945 or 1995, or celebrating the Mirfield community, farming, friendship, flowers, the natural world or simply taking part.
We are celebrating this year! It is 80 years since the first Mirfield Agricultural Show, which took place on the Showground in 1945. After a while it took a break but was re-born in 1995 – so we are celebrating two birthdays – 30 and 80!
We invite stories connected with the numbers 30 or 80, spring and/or summer time 1945 or 1995, or celebrating the Mirfield community, farming, friendship, flowers, the natural world or simply taking part.
Spring and Summertime, whether looking through photographs or planning a new adventure, has such a lot to wonder at: memories, imagination, action, new places, friends and all sorts of other people that we might meet!
Use your words to build a picture – there are rosettes and prizes for writing that our judges particularly like.
