£15 book vouchers from Through the Wardrobe Bookshop, Mirfield, for the winners of each class. £10 special award vouchers for the most atmospheric, best sport-related and most interesting community-related writing, and the best picture from classes 7 to 10.

School Prizes – £25 of vouchers to spend at Through the Wardrobe Bookshop for the school or nursery that submits the best school entry in classes 3 to 11 (with age taken into account).

 

Class 1 – Adults and young people from the age 15 – story of up to 2800 words

Class 2 – Adults and young people from the age 15 – poem of up to 20 lines.

Class 3 – writers 13 to 14 years of age – story of up to 1600 words.

Class 4 – writers 13 to 14 years of age – poem of up to 20 lines.

Class 5 – writers 11 to 12 years of age – story of up to 1200 words.

Class 6 – writers 11 to 12 years of age – poem of up to 16 lines.

Class 7 – writers 9 to 10 years of age – story up to 800 words. May include a picture, as part of the story.

Class 8 – writers 9 to 10 years of age – poem of up to 12 lines. May include a picture as part of the poem.

Class 9 – writers up to 8 years of age – story of up to 600 words. May include a picture as part of the story.

Class 10 – writers up to 8 years of age – poem of up to 8 lines. May include a picture as part of the poem.

Class 11 – creatives up to 8 years – picture (any medium) telling a theme-related story – words not essential.
