Volunteer with Show Weekend Set Up

The majority of Mirfield Show is set up on the Saturday across the showground between about 9am and 3pm – and any assistance is appreciated – from marking the field out for the stalls and attractions to assembling the gazebos, barriers, gates; from laying out the marquee ready for the craft stalls and exhibits to tidying across the showground. There is also some assistance required on Sunday morning between 7am and 9am to help direct traffic and visitors, to assist the exhibits, to put out the seating, to put up the gates and gazebos, to manage stalls and exhibits to their locations, plus much more.

Volunteer with Planning

Mirfield Show would not have grown to be what it has become today without the support we get from local organisations, groups, businesses and volunteers. Assistance is very welcome at any time, but there are three key times when we need people to volunteer. Throughout the year to help stage the show, on the day before setting up the show, and after the show clearing away.

Even if you do not wish to be a full member of the Mirfield Show team, there are many tasks throughout the year that you can volunteer to help us with. From helping with putting posters up to designing leaflets, from selling advertising to invoicing, from organising competitions to taking bookings, plus much more.

Volunteer with Show Day Clear Up

We also appreciate as much fresh-leg help as possible from 4pm on the Sunday to help tidy up and pack up when the committee has been on their feet all day – an often forgotten about task, that must be done before night-fall. This includes many tasks such as clearing litter, moving equipment, dismantling gazebos, collecting seating, plus much more.
