Dear all,

We all find ourselves in unprecedented times and it is with a heavy heart that I make this announcement today.

Following a meeting of our Steering Committee by video last night, Mirfield Agricultural Show as we know it has now been cancelled for 2020.

With a very hard and emotional choice to make, Health and Safety of Committee Members, Volunteers and visiting Public alike was at the centre of the decision. Covid19 has hit hard and, at the present time, nobody can confirm exactly when we will be clear of the virus but, as the days and weeks go by, it is becoming increasingly obvious that, whenever restrictions are lifted, it will not give enough time for us to put on the Show that we all know and love.

We are considering alternatives that will help keep our Community spirit alive – something to bring a little joy and a smile to people’s faces. We will update as the weeks and months go on but please keep Sunday 23rd August 2020 free in your diaries, just in case. This will depend on strict Government guidelines.

We are also looking at online activities for all ages to get involved in through these disappointing and perhaps isolating months. Please keep checking our Website and Social Media for updates.

The, already cancelled, Growing Club will now be a Grow at Home Kit – put together with the support of Westfield Nurseries and I thank them for their support.

For now, I Thank You all for your continued support of the Show, including all our Sponsors, past and present, and the local Organisations, Charities and Businesses that would normally attend or otherwise support the Show.

If you are a local Organisation, Charity or Business and have already been booked to come to the Show, please bear with us and we will be in touch as soon as we can.

I hope you all stay safe, look after yourselves and your nearest and dearest and most of all try to keep smiling through these uncertain times.

Take Care and Kind Regards

Jonathan Evans
